November 14, 2015 By lisa Leave a Comment

Are you struggling with how to combat fatigue? If you are not able to get a nice vacation and recharge your batteries, there are a few good ways to you can fight fatigue on a daily basis.

What causes fatigue?

Do you hate that lack of energy and tired feeling? I do too!

Ways to Fight Fatigue

There are many causes of fatigue, including:

  • Working too many hours
  • Taking work home after working all day
  • Financial stress
  • Relationship stress

All these and more are what causes tiredness. And if you are too tired, it’s hard to find the energy to exercise.

How to Fight Fatigue Naturally – What Causes Tiredness

Forget energy drinks, coffee and other caffeinated foods. Those things are not the ways to fight fatigue. Let’s take a look at some natural ways that you can get some energy back:

1 – Eat More and eat often

To keep your body fueled with energy, you need the fuel. That is, good food. Maintaining a healthy blood sugar level can really help you keep your energy up during the day.

I’m not talking about cookie and junk! No.

Eat three healthy meals a day. And don’t skip breakfast or lunch! That is sure to cause a blood sugar crash. That will lead to you desperately looking for ways to fight fatigue.

Keep some healthy snacks on hand too to eat inbetween your meals.

2 – Carbs Rock!

I talk to a lot of people that tell me they don’t eat carbs! What?

Our body needs carbs to help maintain blood sugar levels. There are different types of cards. Simple carbs can cause blood sugar spikes. Stick with fiber rich whole foods like fruit, veggies and whole grains.

3 – Drink water

Every notice that you need to potty after drinking caffeine? It’s a diuretic so that makes sense.

If you drink coffee all day long, your body will be very dehydrated by the end of the day. Not good. Have you noticed that you are fighting fatigue in the afternoon?

What have you been eating or drinking all day?

Drink lots of water! Stay hydrated.

4 – De-Stress

Stress can exhaust you! What can you do to distract yourself from what’s heavily on your mind. I love to run or go for a walk. I’ll even watch a good movie just to take my mind elsewhere.

Have a nice cup of natural tea with no caffeine or settle into a nice warm bath.

5 – Get Your Sleep

We really need more sleep than we get! Seven to nine hours of sleep is healthy. Many people don’t sleep more than 5 or 6 hours.

Lack of a good night’s sleep can impact your health and cause tiredness during the day.
