Practiced for over 5,000 years, the health benefits of Yoga range from conquering chronic pain to reducing stress. With over 11 million Americans practicing Yoga on a regular basis, it’s definitely something to look into. Who knows, you might even like it! Personally, I’m not a huge fan of Yoga but I still do it every week because I always feel amazing afterwards.
It also helps my back and keeps my muscles stretched out. Perhaps the most important thing I gain from it is the stress reduction. Think you can use some of that? I have not met anyone yet who has zero stress in their life and reducing it is just of the powerful “health benefits of yoga”.
3 Health Benefits of Yoga for Beginners and Advanced Practitioners
Whether you are just starting out or have practiced for years, health benefits of yoga can be enjoyed by all! There are different types of classes or workouts that you can even do in the privacy of your home. Whichever you choose, I am sure you’ll notice a difference in a short time. Of course, you should also eat healthy or use some nutritional supplements to make your life even better.
I won’t be surprised if you have favorite poses too! They may seem difficult if you are just getting started, but with practice, you’ll be posing like a pro in no time! My favorite is Down Dog. It’s helped my back more than all the chiropractor visits I used to have and also stretches out my tight hamstrings. That makes me happy and that is exactly why I keep doing yoga!
- Decreases stress – designed to bring physical and mental exercises, it can help you get the body and peace of mind that you deserve. This means that it can contribute to relaxation and helping to better manage any stress you are experiencing. Seriously, even after a stressful day filled with anxiety, an evening yoga class helps me sleep like a peaceful baby! I highly recommend it.
- Improved fitness – if you are already doing some type of fitness routine, you can enhance it with Yoga. By making improvements to your flexibility and strength, you will also help to reduce the chance of injury in your other exercises. By stretching out your back, doing moves that promote healthy spinal rotation and so much more, you can encourage recovery of your hard worked muscles.
- Reduce chronic pain – this is one of my favorite health benefits of Yoga! Lower back is such a problem for many people, maybe even you. With so many ways to stretch and strengthen your muscles, much of the tension and constriction can be relieved. Try it, you’ll like it!
Many people seem to think yoga is not for them. Don’t knock it until you try it. You may have the best experience of your life. Just remember that when you first start, you won’t be able to do all the poses, that comes with practice and time.
