Did you know that healthy eating and exercise go hand in hand? Recently I had lots of questions from people who are exercising but not getting the results they want. I always ask that question: what are you eating?
Most of the time, people who are not seeing results are not eating the right foods. The best results come from healthy eating and exercise. One without the other will not yield the results you are after.
When you make a decision to eat healthy, remember that it’s a transition. If you are presently eating a lot of junk or processed foods, give yourself some time to transition to healthy eating and exercise.
There is no better time to start than right now. The longer you procrastinate, the harder it gets. I can tell you that when you lead a life of healthy eating and exercise, you won’t regret it. Think about how energized and great you will feel.
It also means that your health care costs can be reduced because when you lead a healthy lifestyle, it is possible to reduce or eliminate some medications. Talk to your doctor about it.
Healthy Eating and Exercise Tips
Transitioning to healthy eating and exercise may seem impossible but it’s not! Here are some tips to help you get started.
Remember, it all starts with a decision by you to make improvement in the way you look and feel. Once you make that decision, do everything you can to stick with it.
- Keep a diary of what you eat and drink. Without thinking about calories, write down what you eat and how much. You can look back at a week or a few days to see exactly what you are eating and drinking. You may surprise yourself. Remember to be honest.
- Switch to water. Water is one of the best drinks you can have. It’s a plus when it comes to healthy eating and exercise. Other drinks like sodas, juices and other sugary drinks add unnecessary calories and do not provide the hydration you get from water.
- Keep exercising. There is only one person that can motivate you to exercise: that is YOU! Even if you are just going for a 30-minute walk 4 or 5 times a week, be disciplined and get it done! Think about how much better you will feel afterwards. It’s hard to believe but if you are tired all the time, activity will help energize you. Exercise is also the best stress reliever of all time.
Remember healthy eating and exercise is lifestyle decision that will affect you forever, whether you decide to do it or not. There are consequences either way.
When you do not exercise, you can increase the risk of many lifestyle diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
Start healthy eating and exercise today. The life you save many be your own.
