Make 2013 the Year You Succeed with Your New Year Fitness Resolutions
It all starts with you. You must make your fitness goals a priority. Without that, success will be out of reach. Also, there are no quick fixes to your health or fitness. It is truly a lifestyle change that requires commitment. Think about this: Do you want to be in exactly the same condition when the next New Year rolls around? If not, pay attention to these tips that you can start on right away:
- Be realistic: Make a win-win situation for yourself. For example, if you want to lose 30 pounds in a month, that is not realistic at all. When you set a goal you also set an expectation. If that expectation is out of reach, you will fail.
- Make your fitness goal significant: Being emotionally invested in your goal makes it easier to stay motivated and stick with it. What is your reason for wanting to lose weight or get in shape? How will your life change if you do? What will life be like if you don’t?
- Write it Down: It is true that when you write your goals on paper, you will have greater success. I know you want to “succeed with your New Year’s fitness resolutions”, so write it down! Look at it daily so you are reminded about what you want to accomplish.
- Take Action: You know those old sayings: “I’ll start new week.” “I’ll start tomorrow.” Do not delay. Start today. Tomorrow never happens so just do it now.
Making changes in your life can be difficult, especially as you transition. If you really want to succeed with your New Year fitness resolutions, take the steps to make it happen. Seriously, if you do nothing, what will your health be like in a year from now? Will you be happy with yourself? You can do it!
