I know, you can’t get moving and are looking for some fitness motivation tips. You came to the right place. It’s always quite easy to make a goal and wish that it happens, and then procrastinate unhappily ever after. Or maybe you got started with your fitness routine only to burn out or get lazy for one reason or another. The truth is there is no magic bullet and “fitness motivation” really comes within.
Your own desire to achieve your goal must be greater than any obstacle or excuse that gets in your way. Ask yourself this question, “Do I really want this enough to make it happen or do I just want to be the person that wants it?” Here are some fitness motivation tips to get you started. But seriously, ask yourself what you want in life, what do you want to look like in 6 months or a year? If you continue to make dumb excuses, you will look and feel exactly the same. If you take action, you will look and feel amazing! The choice is yours.
Fitness Motivation Tips to Stick with Your Exercise Routine
Before you even start a fitness program, whether it’s at the gym, outdoors, or at home, you need to know what you are signing up for. For example, if you need to workout 5 times a week, then you better show up and do it! If you don’t, guess what, you get to look and feel exactly like you do now in 6 months or a year. How does that make you feel? I hope these fitness motivation tips will help you stay consistent and persistent with your exercise program!
- Use Visualization – Picture yourself at the weight you want to be. Imagine how different your life will be. You get to fit into smaller clothes, increased self-confidence, probably dump half of the medications you are currently taking, feel energized, and just feel great. When you don’t feel like getting your butt off the sofa to get active, think about where you want to be, what you will look like and how you will feel. Then, GET MOVING!
- Make a Goal and Write it Down – Just working out without a goal in mind is a waste of time. How will you know what you want to accomplish? It’s like getting on a train with no destination in mind. Think carefully about your goal and make sure it’s achievable. Wanting to lose 20 pounds in a week is not realistic or achievable so be honest with yourself. Remember, it took a long time to put that weight on and it takes time to take it off. Be sure to write down your goal and hang it in an obvious place in the house where you’ll see it every day. What’s your goal? Now go make it happen!
- Log Your Workouts – This is a great fitness motivation tip! People who track their workouts are more successful than people who don’t. You use a journal, notebook, or join Team Beachbody online fitness community for free and use the available tools. This will give you some tangible to review and improve upon.
These are just a few tips to stay motivated for fitness. But the real motivation comes from you and your desire to achieve your goal. You can read all the stuff you want but if your weight goal is not a top priority in your life, it won’t matter much. So again, the most important thing you can do is understand your deepest desire and make it a priority.
