When is the best time to workout? I hear this question time and again. Should you workout in the morning, or is afternoon exercise better? Is eating before you work out better than not?
Many people say the best time to workout is first thing in the morning. There are benefits for sure! If you want to stay energized for the day, then morning exercise will help make that happen.
The best time to workout for others is mid-day. It’s a nice break and keeps the afternoon lethargy away. Yet others love the evening routine after everything else is finished for the day.
As you can see, the best time to exercise is different for everyone. Personally, I did my workouts in the evenings for years. Then I switched to morning and am enjoying it very much. Staying energized for the day is a big plus!
Best Time to Workout is When You Can Make it a Habit
The truth is that there is no scientific best time to workout. The most important thing when figuring out a time of day for exercise is to select a time that you know you can stick to!
If you choose a time that you know will be impossible much of the time due to other things in your life, that’s probably not the best time! Right?
I’ve read lots of articles that aim to prove there is a best time to workout and how your results will be affected. I say that if you cannot stick to a particular recommended time of day for exercise, all the evidence in the world is irrelevant if you don’t do it.
So the best to workout again, is when you can stick to it and make it a habit in your life. Any time exercise is better than no exercise. Simple, right?
